The most popular route in Iceland is the Golden Circle. In this route you will be able to see three main sights Thingvellir, Gullfoss and Geysir as well you can enjoy a super jeep adventures up to Langjokull glacier the second largest glacier in Europe.
First, we will take you to the Thingvellir national park where you can see the Eurasian and North America tectonic plates which are slowly moving apart. The Icelandic parliament was founded in Thingvellir over 1000 years ago and refers to the historic Viking parliament Althing found in the year 930 AD. There we will take a 20 min walk down to Almannagja which goes through the middle of North America and Europe.
The second stop is Geysir geothermal aria in Haukadalur where you can see erupting geysers and hot springs. In the early 2000’s Geysir stopped erupting but Strokkur his “baby brother” goes off every few minutes reaching about 15-20 meters into the air.
The third stop is the waterfall Gullfoss (Golden falls) which is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. The waterfall is both high and mighty and it drops down in two stages 11m and 21m drop into a deep gorge.
The last stop is the spectacular glacier Langjökull (Long glacier) which is the second largest glacier in Europe. We will drive towards the Icelandic highlands and see what this mighty glacier has to offer.
